Our Team

NORMAN SCHIPPERS - President & Founder

Norman played Division I basketball at Stephen F. Austin State University, following a stand-out performance at Garden City (KS) Community College. He was an Academic All-American who twice led his team in scoring while shooting over 45% from the three-point area and over 85% from the free throw line. He still holds the all-time scoring record after almost forty years and before the three-point line existed at Thomas More Prep-Marian High School (KS) – one of the top prep programs in the state. He also remains in the top 5 of the SFA record books after thirty years with single-season three pointers made and three-point field goal percentage.

Professionally, Norman ran some of North America’s largest leadership and talent consulting firms for over 25 years working with top employers such as Southwest Airlines and many other Fortune 500 companies. During this time, Norman was active in youth sports – coaching teams, running and working basketball camps, organizing AAU basketball teams, and working with children on their skills development.

With Alodia Basketball Academy, Norman leveraged his background and experience to provide a unique experience for each and every athlete to improve his or her physical, mental and leadership skills. Norman’s passion for helping athletes take their game to the next level and developing the leaders for tomorrow is the mission of Alodia Basketball Academy. Click HERE to learn more.

Norman also believes it is important to give back to those organizations that helped him throughout the years. One way he is currently doing this is by serving as Chairman of the Executive Advisory Board at Stephen F. Austin State University Business School.

TAYLOR SCHIPPERS - Vice President Programs

Taylor played Division 1 basketball throughout her collegiate career, and she took a different path than most. Taylor attended three universities in her four years of playing college basketball due to some unfortunate circumstances. She brought an extremely competitive attitude leading her teams in college and high school to have highly successful winning seasons. This included winning a WNIT championship at Oklahoma State, two WNIT appearances at Butler University, an eleven game winning streak at the end of the season at Stephen F. Austin State University, and 3 final four appearances in high school including 2 state championship games.

She was a starter throughout her four-year high school career. She began her college career starting half of the games her freshman year and then was a full-time starter the last three years of college. With this, she was able to accumulate numerous individual awards throughout her career including: Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year her senior year at SFA, pre-season 2nd team all Big East team, Big East leader in free throws, and Academic All Big 12 team. Throughout her college career, she scored over 1,000 points, and had over 500 assists. In high school, she was first team all-state three years and still holds the all-time points, assists, and rebounds record at Concordia Lutheran High School (Tomball, TX) scoring over 2,900 points in her career.

Taylor has grown up around basketball her entire life and looks forward to continuing her career with Alodia Basketball Academy. She played AAU basketball, participated in camps, and relentlessly worked on her game on the court and in the weight room. She looks forward to helping youth grow athletically and learn life lessons along the way through basketball, just like she did. Taylor’s passion and drive to helping athletes take their game to the next level shines through the mission of Alodia Basketball Academy.

KIM MONTGOMERY - VICE PRESIDENT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Kim brings experience to Alodia as a mom with children who were in sports for many years along with her gifts of communication and making connections. While Kim did not play basketball, she was raised around sports her entire life and enjoys all aspects of sports!

Kim oversees the “voice of the customer” making sure messages, websites, emails, etc. make sense to current customers and new customers. Her attention to detail and having the lens of a sports parent, allow her to create and/or edit many of the emails sent out by Alodia, posts and stories on social media, Alodia’s website pages, and other communication avenues. She brings messages to families in ways that make it easy to understand the impact Alodia programs can have on their children and in our community.

Kim is also in charge of Alodia’s sponsorship program. She brings her years of working at a Houston-area publication to Alodia, collaborating with trusted partners (small and large businesses) to reach the thousands of people Alodia serves annually through one or more of our programs.

If you have seen Alodia somewhere at your North Houston school, Kim has been involved. She oversees Alodia donations to school auctions, golf tournaments, gym signage, and other ways to give back to the schools in the community. Kim also assists in coordinating scholarships to Alodia families needing financial assistance.

Kim loves seeing the positive impact sports, teams, and community have on children which gives them a strong foundation to become “…the Next Generation of Leaders through Sports” – on and off the court.
